Brittany Sweeney (who actually just goes by Sweeney), is a long-time lover of the written word. One of her proudest middle school moments was when her Language Arts teacher pointed at her and in a very stern voice said in front of her classmates, "See this girl here? She is going to be a writer someday." Ms. Sweeney has done her best to make that dream come true when she realized it was her own. Sweeney has written as an editorial assistant for the Baltimore and D.C. versions of Where magazine, where she detailed the up-and-coming people, places, and things of interest in both cities. She has spent this last year trying to instill her love of writing into her classes of unruly 7th graders as their Language Arts teachre, and she currently blogs about social issues for the blog Young Mormon Feminists. When a keyboard or pen is not attached to her hand, Sweeney is fond of playing with her kitten Avery, baking, acting, pretending she can sing well, and convincing friends and family to join her on crazy Groupon adventures.
